I had purchased Microsoft Lumia 540 on 13.09.2015 from Reliance Digital at Vashi, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Since last few days, there was a charging problem for my handset.
I approached the Nokia Service Centre at Vashi on 19.02.2016 and was diagnosed that there was a problem with the motherboard and the handset would have to be sent to the Company for repairs and it would take around 15 days to receive it back.
I requested for an alternative windows handset till the delivery of my handse, but the Nokia Service Centre personnel refused to arrange for any alternative windows handset.
Later I approached Reliance Digital, Vashi on 20.02.2016 with the same problem and requested them to resolve the problem as the authorized Service Centre was unable to do so. One of their executives tried to charge my handset but was not successful and hence on my request, he replaced the battery of ny handset with another battery of the same model. On replacement of the battery, my handset started working properly. He told me that there is no problem with the handset but only the battery and since the problem with the battery has occurred before six months from the date of purchase, a new battery would be provided in lieu of the faulty battery by the authorized service centre. He was very cooperative and even send one of his representative along with me to the authorized service centre to arrange for alternative battery or a handset, but sorry to mention that the authorized service centre personnel did not oblige the request.
I insisted with Reliance Digital for an alternative windows phone and somehow they managed to give me Lumia 800 (old model) for use till I get the battery replacement for which I really thank Reliance Digital.
But Lumia 800 being a very old model, does not support many apps of my phone and also there is no provision for insertion of sd card on which I have most of my data, due to which I am unable to retrieve my data. I enquired if I could purchase a new battery so that I could use my own phone, to which they stated that spare battery is not available in the market.
This seems to be a very unfair consumer practice and my humble request to Microsoft to kindly take a note of it and stop it immediately by making all the accessories available in the market.
I approached the authorized service centre on 22.02.2016 for with the battery problem Jobsheet Number : 969504867/160222/019 and I was given a target delivery date of 13.03.2016.

I request Microsoft Company Mobile section to kindly look into the matter immediately and either send me an alternative windows handset or a battery for my Lumia 549 with a call to me on my mobile no. 9820562656 as I cannot access my mail or whatsapp on this old phone and my business is suffered due to the same.

I hope Microsoft will take quick action into the matter.
