5-7 weeks ago Sears did a free maintenance check on my 2013 refrigerator. Just after that I called in as my ice maker leaked all over the floor. I had to wait a week or so for this service. I was told we had to order a part so I had to wait a week for that. In the meantime my freezer died too. By the time I waited over 71/2 hours for the guy to show up (8-12) it was 3:30. Then was told it was the compressor. Had to order that..another week before service. They guy spent over 4 hours putting it in and did not know how to replace the ice maker but stated it should work with the new compressor. Meanwhile I must have called over 30 times trying to get someone out sooner and with the early appts. After the long 71/2 hour wait they offered to extend my warranty by 3 months to appease me. Then after the compressor didn’t work my refrigerator itself stopped working. I kept calling to beg for someone to come out with every part or a new refrigerator. I was told that 4 items needed to be replaced in the frig in order to get a new one under the warranty agreement. Only the compressor was replaced. I called so many times and finally spoke to a manager and they finally said they would send me out someone to do a diagnostic test last Friday. He said I need a modulator (?) as the freon was leaking out. Now another week to get the part. Thanksgiving is coming up…I obviously will not be having it here as I usually do. I will now be out of town until after Thanksgiving and begged for a Monday appt, Nov 30 and their earliest appt since it will be time consuming. I was told there are no appts available until Dec 1. And, they cannot guarantee an early time. Meanwhile I have spent HOURS waiting on them, and it has been over a month with no refrigerator and ..have to wait once again. Yesterday they finally approved reimbursement to rent a refrigerator until mine is fixed. I am supposed to be reimbursed for food loss. But, I almost feel they should pay me for MY time waiting and without anything working. Needless to say, it has been incredibly frustrating, I have spent hours on the phone talking to everyone including online chats. I have been with Sears for years with good service until this started 5-7 weeks ago. If the “modulator” doesn’t work once it is installed…then what? That will only count as 2 replacement parts and in the “agreement” I need up to 4. It took 3 guys to get this appliance up my stairs and installed…it will take 3 guys to remove and reinstall. Sears is shorthanded and waiting times are unbearable…can you help me????
