Sub: complaint over sony mobiles.
I’M THOTA SAI SRIKANTH.
I have bought SONY XPERIA Z1 on july 29th,2015 at amazon.in.
It was received on august 1st ,2015.
On august 20th night when I was chatting in my phone, I felt that the touch was not working properly.Then after few seconds I came to notice a thin hairline crack on my screen from top to bottom and the half part of the screen is working and the other half doesn’t .In short, the screen on the right side of the crack doesn’t work and left side of the crack works. I wonder how did that happen with out applying any …means literally any pressure on it. Then I quickly google it and found that this issue is being with XPERIA Z series handsets. You can confirm yourself by googling “self crack issue of xperia z mobiles” .And the guilty should be absolutely on the part of company as it is the design fault of their mobiles.
Then first, I went from Kakinada to Rajamundy to put my phone in the hands of sony service centre. I explained my problem and they said that the company only sees the reality of the image of mobile and definitely put my phone out of warranty. But they said that they will put my phone pictures to sony and wait for confirmation and then I came back to Kakinada. After two days I called back to them for the information they simply said that the company rejected to repair in warranty and it costs about INR12000 ot of warranty . I was totally shocked ! I will bear any type of cost if the damage was done by me! But how can I bear that much if the damage is a manufacture defect and they are not aaccepting their fault? How could this happen? Then I contacted the technician in the service centre and he told that better to contact customer care instead of contacting him.(“ BUT WHEN I WAS JUST ASKING AND ASKING THE TECHNICIAN THAT WHY DON’T THOSE GUYS TELL TO COMPANY THAT I HAVE NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE PHONE WHICH CREATED THE CRACK, SO THAT THEY CAN UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION WITH MY PHONE! HE THEN REPLIED THAT HE HAD SEEN THE PHONE AND HE DIDN’T FIND ANY EXTERNAL DAMAGE BUT THE COMPANY ONLY SEES THE PART WHICH WAS VISIBLE TO THEIR EYES BUT NOT THE SITUATION BEHIND IT”).
I request you to just think how can a phone screen could be cracked with out any sharp and external damages? My handset don’t have any damage except the crack made by itself. Its just a thin single hair line crack. If you want any example, consider this….”if any single thin hair, falls on your phone.. how does it look? exactly in in the same way my phone looks now”.
Then I contacted customer service toll free number 180030002800 they said that to please make them contact with the service centre technician. Then again I went to rajamundry and made them contacted they discussed themselves about the case and finally REJECTED my complaint.
So now the device is with me and I believe that the consumer forum is the only way that I can solve my ruined problem.
